You Cannot Keep Spring from Coming, is a group show that takes the form of a garden within our exhibition space.

Gardening is the most candid form of compatibility between culture and nature. To cultivate a garden is to witness the insurrection of plants, the agitation of insects, and the conspiracy of the environment. And with spring comes the revolution.

The roots of this garden grow in a land of social struggle, acts of sedition, and the complexity of the relationships between human and non-human entities. The selection, care, and interaction of botanical organisms and artificial objects reveal an exercise of domestication of nature on a limited, private, and close scale. But seeds, like ideas, are rebellious and spread to cross circumstances and borders. Their transcendence depends on the soil in which they germinate.
